Ticket sales have ended
Picnic is starting up a DJ agency and it's no coincidence that Sydney just got 250% cooler. We've gathered up all of our favourite local legends to create a crime-fighting disco gang to clean up the streets, sex up the clubs and make life in this fair city better for everybody. To celebrate we'll be having a One Night Stand symphony in the key of orgy - a menage a sept featuring a bunch of our recruits. Warehouse pandemonium with the finest soundtrack you're likely to hear this side of the solar system!
TAMAS JONES (HEY CONVICT!)
The big daddy with the disco beard that weakens knees across the globe regardless of gender: Tamas Jones is our favourite psychedelic prince. After popping the One Night Stand cherry with a spectacular boogie-tastic journey at the first of the party series we're all aware of his ability to cook up a steaming dance floor.
THE LOIN BROTHERS
With a collective total of over 90 million years in the dance music scene, it's fair to say that Silvio Mysterio and Long John Saliva are relatively experienced in the disco trade. They eat only endangered species and wear short shorts all year round. Their releases on Future Classic have been winked at by heaps of great dudes - Tim Sweeney, Ivan Smagghe, Lovefingers and TBD. True disco rock heroes.
Matt Trousdale invented house music. Having migrated from the Greatest of Britains to escape the paparazzi, Matt now steers the platters that matter at the rather excellent People Must Jam parties, keeping quality at an absurdly high level. Yeah he's played with Trus'me, Rahaan, The Revenge, Felix Dickinson and plenty more, no biggy.
Microsoft. Google. Sony. Coca-Cola. Death Strobe Records. Disco Delicious. You may have heard of these brands. Andy runs two of them. Inbetween business meetings with the world's top executives and ribbon-cutting ceremonies, he likes to play disco records and write self-help books. Some DJs lucky enough to support him include DJ Harvey, Jacques Renault and Justin Vandervolgen - nice.
Mother of the Picnic empire, Kali has been responsible for some of the world's most ultimate DJs and artists coming to Aus and spinning our heads off. She's a bloody great DJ too and her tight tunes have been known to revive people from decade-long comas to boogie another day. Maurice Fulton, Derrick May, Darshan Jersani, Rub N Tug, Greg Wilson and a LOAD more - all brought to you by Kali!
Perfect. Four time karaoke gold medalist at the Athens 2004 olympics, the queen of Gay Bash has jumped onto our little vessel and is ready to moisten things up with the weird and the wonderful. She's marvellously eclectic and only the smokiest tunes find their way into the Perfect Snatch record box (pun intended?) which you'll quickly discover on the dee-floor.
Yes, that's one heck of a party. As usual it's BYO and you can grab tickles from Resident Advisor. The address will be sent out a couple of days before the fateful night.* Can't wait to leg-shakey with all of you! More info about the agency as well as a full list of our champs will be popping up on the Picnic website in the coming weeks so keep an eye out.
*There were a few issues with Ticket Holders being sent the address when added to the Picnic mail out list. Please make your way over and sign up to our mailing list to avoid any pesky day of gig worries...
