Nervous plans on closing down Neptunes just like the rest of the summer went... with a bang!!
We have Jonathan Peters and Theo with host Anthony Lamont
Though mostly unknown outside of New York, Jonathan Peters became one of the city's most popular DJs in the late '90s and early 2000s thanks to his long-running Saturday night residency at Sound Factory. He spins a little bit of everything, though mostly whatever happens to be trendy at a given moment; for the most, given his locale and residency, he spins progressive trance and house. In addition to his DJing credentials, Peters also produces his own tracks and also remixes the work of others
A decade’s expertise as a radio jock and currently hosting weekly dance mixshows on Sirius/XM’s Electric and WDRE in New York. Yet, his current position as one of dance music’s most influential tastemakers was not attained overnight, rather earned over the course of years working as music director and steady club work throughout the tri-state area. It paid off catching the attention of Nervous Records where a string of top-selling compilations followed fusing the international side of house vocals with ease into the tougher twisted beats. This year seeing his studio credits as a skilled remixer and a tight stable of original artist tunes. A 15-year residency and creator of the Hamptons’ longest running all-day beach house party. A record deal with seminal house music label, Nervous Records. It’s true; THEO is beginning a well-rounded artist.
This year marked his fourth installment on Nervous Records’: Nervous Nitelife series of mixed compilations. “Summer Clubbing 4″ was released in June 2010 and THEO became the first Nervous artist to reach the Top Ten on Itunes Dance Albums chart. The old adage of hard work and perseverance bearing fruit has been proven right, once again, in THEO’s life. At the height of his powers as a club DJ, radio personality and dance music producer, THEO’s never been more relevant to the world of electronic dance music and the clubbing landscape he helped craft.
THEO (real name: THEO PISANI) currently hosts weekly dance mixshows on Sirius/XM Radio’s Electric Area channel with his All Love From NY radio show. While still on terrestrial radio with his mixshow on Party FM (WDRE, New York). His current position as one of dance music’s most influential tastemakers was not attained overnight, but rather earned over the course of years working as program director and mixshow coordinator on college radio stations at Bryant College (Rhode Island), Brooklyn College (Brooklyn, NY), and Stony Brook University (Long Island, NY). Not long after college, THEO would score commercial radio gigs working at WLIR, WBLI and WXXP (which later became WDRE/Party 105), mixing on live broadcasts. At WXXP, THEO was hired by VIC LATINO as mixshow coordinator and eventually was named music director. (WDRE is a BDS-monitored station also broadcasting into Nassau County on 101.5FM.)
Throughout THEO’s years on radio, he played steady club gigs and built a much envied following on his home turf of Long Island and throughout the New York tri-state area. THEO’s advice to aspiring deejays is, “Get a residency at a good club and build a crowd. That’s the only way to create a following.” THEO’s previous releases include editions 1 to 3 of his Nervous Nitelife: Summer Clubbing series for Nervous Records, from 2007 to 2009, respectively, and NYC Mixx for UBL Music in 2006. Special video footage recorded this upcoming summer will be incorporated into a future release on Nervous.
In the media, THEO has appeared in a variety of print and online outlets, including: DJ Times, Remix, Club World, Musico Pro, Accent On Tampa Bay, Jive, The Southampton Press, The East Hampton Independent, The Miami New-Times, The Las Vegas Weekly, Las Vegas Citylife, Holmdel Happenings, Raves.com, Clubplanet.com, and many others.
THEO has shared the bill with international superstars like TIËSTO and DAVID GUETTA , has been invited to open up for STING and was selected twice to play for the NY portion of MOBY’s Area:One and Area:Two tours. As of summer 2010, THEO has been seen and heard deejaying regularly at the country’s finest nightclubs, including: Cielo (New York), Elevate (CT), Harrah’s Pool (Atlantic City), Neptune Beach Club (Hamptons, NY), Rise (Boston), Therapy (RI), Water Taxi Beach (Long Island City, NY), among other venues. While overseas with parties at Pacha (Ibiza) and Cafe Mambo (Ibiza).
For the fourth year-in-a-row, THEO has been nominated by DJ Times Magazine as among “America’s Best DJ,” a fan-powered poll that has seen THEO consistently ranking in the top tier. This year he has finished #15 in ABDJ’s 2010 competition. This summer will be his fifth installment of Summer Clubbing on Nervous records with a national promotional tour. THEO is also endorsed by Pioneer and his favorite energy drink Red Bull.
