DOM SERVINI (WAH WAH 45s)
NICK LAWRENCE (ALTERED VIBES)
AMITY -live performance
After a series of great events in the last few months we're back for the final month of bringing the best eclectic soundtrack to camden, yes, its the final Saturday of sounds good action, and hopefully we'll be in the grip of an indian summer, so once again we'll be able to 'Sound Good In The Sunshine'
This is the last event in the summer residency, and its been a great summer,(despite the weather!) special thanks to all the guest djs and live performers who have helped us the make 'Sounds Good In The Sunshine' the best option for summer afternoons in Camden, however, have no fear as we are currently finalising details of a series of new events at The Lockside which will pick up the torch and carry it through til next summer...
Set slap bang in the middle of camden market, and overlooking the famous camden lock, the lockside lounge is one of the best spots in camden, especially in the summertime when the huge outdoor terrace comes into its own!
we'll be utilising this outdoor area as much as possible, with djs playing summer soundtracks outside in the afternoon and a barbeque blazing all day...when the sun goes down we move inside and rock the lockside's large dancefloor til 2am
we've drawn together an eclectic assortment of guest djs to throw down the freestyle beats alongside residents paddy freeform (universal vibes) and paul aaaron (warrior fm/keep the faith), this month we have a veritable dj mash up, featuring a host of Londons unsung dj talent, specially selected to rock the dancefloor
Special guests for our closing party are Dom Servini, head honcho of the marvellous Wah Wah 45's label, singles editor and scribe for Straight No Chaser Magazine and general jazz and soulful music afficianado. We're looking forward to seeing what Dom will bring to the (turn)table and are expecting a purely elcectic set from this music enthusiast
also stepping up this month, we have Nick Lawrence, founder of the fantastic altered vibes label....Nick Lawrence established Altered Vibes in 1998 to create an outlet for hip hop and downtempo. ÊNick along with fellow ÔheadsÕ Tom Frain and Felix Hines, aim to attract and work alongside artists from the leftside whilst keeping it soulful.Ê Good folks we have worked with (and continue to) include RJD2, Hundred Strong, Roger Robinson and Modaji to name but a few. With a formidable reputation now secured, the future looks good...
No Sounds Good would be complete without the afternoon into evening live performance to warm up the dancefloor and this months instigators are Amity, rising stars of the UK Soul scene comprising of Hannah, Lei& Benjamin. Between them having worked with Soul II Soul Studios,Kathy Brown, London Community Gospel Choir and Poetiquette, bringing a
touch of classic Soul to the acoustic and Neo Soul arena. As seen regularly at Coco Butta and Spirit Of Soul London events.
