We aim to bring you some of the best musical talent in the form of DJ's and Live Acts. Not getting caught up with genres - we ask that guest acts build their sets to showcase their individual influences and talent.
VENUE: The Third Door | PRICE: £3
For this party - resident JIGSAW will be warming up for the Louche lads.
Their events in Leeds and London offer the UK an insight into a diverse range of on-point electronic music, with previous guests including Zip, Art Department, Prosumer, Dyed Soundorum, Nicolas Jaar and Fred P amongst others. Notable UK debuts have been given to Visionquest and a young Seth Troxler, Louche always with their finger firmly on the pulse of new sounds. Their Leeds base The Mint Club was voted best small venue in the U.K. by DJ mag in 2010 and they were shortlisted to win the BEST CLUB NIGHT in the U.K. by DJ mag for 2011.
JOSH T [Hot Waves, Illusion Recordings]
Josh T is an export of Northern England's musical mecca, Leeds; the city where he's made a name for himself since moving north seven years ago. As co-founder of Louche, one of the city's most loved clubnights, he has been rubbing shoulders and supporting many of the industry's biggest players for the last four years, gathering valuable experience as a DJ and a producer along the journey. His unique productions range from snappy edits to dark groovers, spanning the BPM range from 80 to 120. Josh is an excellent sampler, always using his old MPC, but can also twiddle a synth to make some lovely acidic arps and basses. Releases have so far come on JJ and Fossy's Hot Waves, Manchester's Illusion Recordings and London based Very Very Wrong Indeed, with more scheduled for 2012 including his first vinyl solo EP on Berlin's Odd Socks Recordings. A sleazy passion for Hip Hop and RnB burn deep in his loins; hints of which occasionally emerge in his colourful dj sets. A bit of a vinyl junkie, Josh has lugged his bag all over the place, from Sankeys to the SGP, from Space Ibiza to Croatia's Garden Festival.
Bruno first became excited by electronic music in early 2007 by Cambridge's longest running house and techno tastemakers, The Priory, who are responsible for throwing the highest quality underground do's the city has ever seen. Their monthly endeavor gave him a small yet accelerated window into the industry and the music from a place where it was otherwise invisible. Simultaneously, he was given remarkable chance to view greats such as Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May, Luke Slater and Andrew Weatherall, all within the confines of a small, lowlit 200 capacity venue. Although always music lover at heart, it was this time that his tastes began to spawn into what they are today.
Whilst groovy, hypnotic house cuts structure many of Bruno's set, his tastes are deeply eclectic and he continually strives to be the true musical fanatic, exhaustively searching for new flavours and never letting his sound become stagnant. Expect bootlegs, classics, and a fair few of his own edits.
