Following a very rare three hour set by living legend DJ QU last month, widely deemed as ‘one for the history books’ by the people attending, Scandal returns March 3 the only way appropriate – inviting Underground Quality sparring partner and Soul People Music label head Fred P.
With more than 20 years below his belt, alongside his Underground Quality brethren with Jus Ed at the helm, Fred P – who is also behind the Jazz Consortium moniker – is acknowledged as one of the frontrunners of the NYC house renaissance, pushing a compellingly deep and dark envelope of house. Making for a very suitable follow up to last month’s success, as if this is not enough cause for celebration, Leftroom protégé and Half Baked resident Robin Ordell will be joining Scandal resident, and fellow Half Baked comrade, Greg Brockmann in a joint birthday celebration on the night. Joining them is usual suspect, and Scandal resident, Camille Hooz.
Scandal is recognised for its quality output firmly erring on the deeper side of house and techno, headed up by residents Greg Brockmann and Camille Hooz, One Friday a month it plays host to a deft mixture of industry frontrunners, with the likes of DJ QU, Yakine, Le Loup and Jef K having graced the decks, alongside local stars of tomorrow, such as Robin Ordell, Rainer, Louis Guilhem and Claus Voigtmann.
