The international breakbeat awards return for their eleventh year this month, and after the raving success (pardon the pun) of last year’s party at London’s Cable nightclub, they will return to the Bermondsey tunnels once again on February 25th with a typically eye watering line-up featuring the biggest names in the global breaks scene.
Your ‘Best DJ’ for the last two years running, Krafty Kuts returns to the decks to treat Breakspollers to another trademark roof-blowing set, along with last year’s ‘Best Producer’, Elite Force, a formidable force (last pun we promise) in the thriving global breaks movement. Three of breakbeats biggest pioneers, Aquasky, will be on hand with a diverse and groundbreaking set that journeys from breaks, through house, through old skool and back again, whilst legendary duo Freestylers move in fresh off the success of huge recent tracks ‘Frozen’ and ‘Over You’.
One of the last years biggest success stories, A Skillz, will keep the party jumping with ease when he mashes up the best in breaks and funk armed with his huge recent reworkings of tracks including ‘California Soul’, along with legendary scene figurehead Rennie Pilgrem who will undoubtedly show Cable why he upholds his remarkable DJ status year on year. Rounding off the headliners will be massive acts Pyramid, Deekline & Ed Solo and Featurecast, three of the industries key ammunition in the battle to keep breakbeat at the very forefront of the electronic music scene.
With support on the night coming from more than ten other artists, and all set in arguably London’s coolest venue, the Breakspoll awards 2012 looks set to dwarf all of our past events. Come down and show your support as we turn eleven years old, and don’t forget to cast your votes asap at:
Tickets are already running dangerously low, please move quickly to avoid disappointment: http://www.breakspoll.com/event/
As always, some tickets will be held back and sold on the door, last year these sold out in the space of 30 minutes so you are advised to get down to the venue well before the doors open for these!
