''It’s going to be our 3rd birthday in April'' says a strange looking Greek man. “I want it to be a really good party”, he announces, whilst adjusting the woolly hat that he saves for special indoor occasions. With that in mind it seemed only natural that we pull out all the stops and bring up from London the superb BLM and ensure that our 3rd anniversary doesn't go by unnoticed.
Known to his friends as Ben Micklewright, BLM has been topping the bill at London nights for many years. He has flown around Europe, played at the likes of Cocoon and recently helped tear the roof off of Tape in Berlin where he took to the turntables as a member of the Underground Quality family for their last ever party at the club. After growing up on some of garage’s finest names (including our all time favourite Todd Edwards) he began focusing his attention on music production in 2004. Since then he has developed an intoxicating house rhythm that will be perfect for setting off the Arthouse dance floor. If you want to know more then check out any of the below links and get stuck into the releases on Fear of Flying, the label Ben co-owns with Jay Massive.
Moid and John Hanley will be doing the facial-hair-warm-up again and of course the usual rules apply; approximately 60 places available, the event will be held in the cosy surroundings of the Deaf Institute Basement where extra sound will be installed especially for the night. There of course will be free birthday hugs and kisses for those that can stomach them too. Tickets available from RA or your local neighbourhood Arthouse Man.
