Lo*kee London, Because We Care
In early 2008, Sebastian Voigt, Nic Thompson and Nicholas
Wenzel seek to create something unique for them and for
us, for you, the community of love-ing of the music that
surrounds them. Focused on making the right party with
an intimate group, something special that nobody else was
doing at that moment to ... they created it * kee. One of the
most memorable early this industry has seen in a long time
coming. Taking the concept of a house party to a whole new
dimension, they transformed what was then his home in the
birthplace of the * kee; The Candy Fac-tory. Together with
like-minded friends and alignments that in-clude innovative
Jamie Jones, Lee Curtiss, Craig Richards and dop, his
goal was to raise a family Struer with others who feel the
same with respect to the party, the music and atmosphere
. The results speak for themselves and while I * kee grew,
the number of friends, and friends of friends, guests and
residents, and inevitably the place. 2009 and The Ink Yard
arrived with the summer heat, after that only a hazy patch of
sand, sweat, good times and good beats. Winter 2009/10 and
a treasure hunt to find places began and took it lo*kee across
Disused warehouse space, textiles and leather factories
abandoned fuer-on used to accommodate the lo*kee and
his growing sense of family .... where the sign was always
“Because We Care”, now so symbolic through London and
capturing everything this party and its creators mean. Lo
* kee has brought us within city beaches, bars homemade
sweaty ceilings, palm trees, underground warehouses, a ping
pong table and an environment that is unimaginable unless
you’ve experienced. It is simply to have fun, let go surrounded
by the right people in the right place at the right time and get
lost in the music ..... nothing more. Sticking to your values
without fear of producing a good time while this distance is
kept after making it to remain close, especially as it has since
the beginning of 2010 continues with much more of the same
and some surprises along the way ..... Let’s just keep it as
lo*kee. BECAUSE WE CARE.
Nisekay, Lo*kee, London
Following his formative years as a party warrior, Nisekay (DJ, producer and co-creator of lo*kee) was born out of a love for a good party. Influenced by his early experiences with Goa's psychedelic trance parties and the techno/house of Ibiza, he was struck by a love for underground electronic music. With the help of an ever growing techno circus, he is now running lo*kee in a number of secret east london locations. Because we care.
Romero D, Digitalique//Hashima
Romero D has been involved with music since early age, starting out as a drummer and percussionist which today naturally reflects the productions and live sets. As the main producer at Digitalique, with a sonic finger touch in all of the releases coming out, it is fair to say that Romero D has come of age as a producer. His consistent, vibrant production style delivers intelligent percussive minimal techno and tech house with almost flawless style and flair which was well received in a recent 10 days ten gigs stint in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, culminating in a headining set at the infamous "La Santanera" alongside label brother Multifarius.
Romero D is also part of ITM which has 2 releases on the Digitalique label. His First Solo release D010 Dona Marie EP received rapturous support from: Misstress Barbara, Karotte, Marcel Janovsky [Treibstoff], Audiojack, Anderson Noise (Noise Music), Taster Peter (Hell Yeah Recordings), Sebbo (Desolat, liebe*detail), John Dalagelis (Dieb Audio), El_Txef_A (Hypercolour).
Romero D is also a collaborator in "TSHI KA GO" forming part of the production and creative core of GHOSTS OF HASHIMA [LONDON // BERLIN // TOKYO] vinyl only label alongside Ketabot and Mario Leal.
Multifarius started his musical journey back in the early 90s when he picked up the guitar. From that point on he has been driven to evolve, now representing one Digitalique's very own cornerstones. His style is behind the mixing desk leans toward underground house and tech house, characterised by deep intelligent beats, chunky bass lines, old school analog snares, hats and claps resonate through a reverbed atmosphere. Multifarius productions are composed on some extensive analog hardware with the outcome destined to be varied, yet guaranteed to include a touch of his playful production style. Apart from his vibrant productions, Multifarius has played alongside artists such as UMEK, Matthias Tanzmann, Paul Ritch, Ambivalent, Siopis and Marcin Czubala, and rocked a suntanned jubilant crowd a 10 day 10 gig stint in Playa Del Carmen including a headline slot at “La Santanera” alongside his label brother Romero D.
