Time is increasingly flying by. Collect! will be celebrating three years of techno and house for the people in June but before we get to that......
We have a party in April which is likely to be our last in Snow Lane for the year and an extra piece of joy on May bank holiday, Saturday the 5th which should see our return to the original but renovated DLS main room after nearly a year.
May bank is under wraps for now (some admitted tinkering is going on after the Debug announcement) but April will see us say hello to Jamie Anderson (Cocoon/Rekids/Artform), Loco and Jam(1605/Frequenza/Rukluse) and in the Itchy Pig room, Toby Tobias(Nang/Rekids)
Quality bookings across all three rooms have recently ensured all three remained bouncing all night, a feat I hope you will assist us to repeat. Our alliance with Itchy Pig records in room 2 and a string of guest hosts in room 3 has been fruitful in making a true three room beast of a night.
Rather pleasant Cafe/Tea room/Chill out area by Khacha Puri Cafe.
A short run through our next band of visitors follows, for full info follow the links folks.
Jamie Anderson has been plying the world with his darkened tech house for a considerable period now and is one of our most prolific home grown types. He’s released untold amounts of music through all sorts of channels over an international career spanning twenty years including his own Artform label, Cocoon, Rekids and a surprising amount of others. The pinnacle had to arrive in the end and here we are people, I think that’s what he said.
Loco and Jam
Loco and Jam are a duo of more recent birth four or five years ago. That birth took place in Northern Ireland but their sound is quite akin to the big chunky Italian sound we’ve been advocating for a while. Expect what we have come to affectionately call ‘the full rinse’. Releases include appearances on Frequenza, the bosses of which were some of our last guests along with the omnipresent 1605 and Rekluse labels.
Toby has become well known amongst his scene for being one of the few to
completely hold his own sound and style. Having seen releases on such
labels as Low Pressings, Bearfunk, Odori and Hi-Phen, Beat Freeze Records,
Bent, Bloop Recordings, and Dialect Recordings. He has also remixed for an
astounding amount of artists - one of which is forthcoming on Itchy Pig
records. He he has built up a tremendous following and has a diary of
bookings covered all over the globe - one of which is our humble little
Sound by Danger Noise Audio. The integration of our new, rather distinctive custom system should continue as well.
Usual upstairs chill out area with cafe and sofas in the second bar.
Usual no attitude attributes.
