We can't thank you all enough for what was truly a special night at the spring edition of Cartuli's with Tom Clark and Avatism! We're pretty sure the walls, ceiling, floor and definitely the speakers were dancing along with us all…amazing.
ALEX JONES (Hypercolour / Playhouse)
Alex made his name through his infamous afterhours Retox parties, which pulled in followers like Luciano, Pier Bucci, Jamie Jones and M.A.N.D.Y. to name a few. In 2006 he decided it was time to start up the Hypercolour label with Jamie Russell which has since put out a consistent flow of quality house music from artists such as Tom Demac, Jozif, Kris Wadsworth, Maya Jane Coles, Shenoda, and Huxley. His own discography features productions and collaborations with the likes of Glimpse, Geddes and Alex Niggemann on Hyperclour as well as other big imprints such as Tsuba, Vitalik and Murmur Records.
Alex's Hypercolour is going from strength to strength with releases from new superstar Maya Jane Coles and bodafida electronic royalty Groove Armada. Alex knows how to rock the floor and we look forward to hearing him rock us Cartuli's!!
KASPER (Esperanza / Bass Culture / Illian Tape)
Beginning in 2005 Kasper immersed himself fully in the Madrid music scene by running club nights together with his friend Papol whilst at the same time successfully becoming resident of Revolver Club, the place where he first had contact and played alongside artists such as Damian Schwartz, Pilas, Magda and David Mariscal. In late 2005, Kasper created the Esperanza label, alongside Papol with the idea of showing people their personal take on how electronic music should be produced. Artists such as Troy Pierce, Dario Zenker, Heartthrob, Jorge Savoretti, Ryan Crosson, Marc Houle, Franco. Cinelli and Mikael Stavostrand amongst others quickly joined the project and helped the Spanish label to grow up and became what it is at present.
A year later in 2006 was to be Kasper’s first taste in production when together with Papol they released on the ‘Igloo’ net label. Surprisingly, for them at the time, the release was a big success with many DJ’s from the then ‘minimal scene’ all over the world showing support. From the Igloo success saw a small collaboration with ‘M_NUS’ for Kasper remixing Ambivalent quickly followed by a track in the VVAA of ‘Items and Things’ 02 (label owned by Troy Pierce, Magda and Marc Houle).
From then on it has been carefully planned releases packed with quality for Kasper on some of the most forward thinking labels around such as ‘Lomidhigh’, ‘Quintessentials’, ‘Mupa’, ‘Bloop Recordings’ and most recently a super successful release on ‘Bass Culture’ (new label from D’Julz). His latest efforts have seen him gain support from Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Raresh, Josh Wink, Mathias Tanzmann and many more. Such quality releases have seen Kasper continue to play in select clubs like Watergate, Rex, Fuse, Harry Klein, Weekend Club, Goa, The South American Music Conference with talent like his there will be
HIMAN (Connaisseur Recordings / Galaktika Records)
Himan's style is uncertain and unpredictable, being able to listen from techno to house music, from jazz to experimental music. His productions range from the techno groovie to the house beats. Himan's music has been released on the mighty Connaisseur Recordings and Galaktika Records amongst others.. Himan is starting to gain life, and he is now growing to another level so we are excited to welcome him to Cartuli's Day on his route to international acclaim.
