UPDATE October 24th 2012
With Halloween just around the corner and the Autumn party season now in full swing, we think it's a good time to reveal the full lineup for our nofitstate NYD 2013 party and we're delighted to announce that both Tale of Us and Thugfucker will be joining us to bring in 2013.
Tale of Us, aka Carmine Conte and Matteo Milleri, are one of our favourite duos in today's electronic music scene, who's rise has been meteoric since their first release in 2010. Currently working on their first full length LP, and with releases already under their belt on Visionquest, Coccoon and Life And Death, Tale of Us are well on their way to becoming a household name.
Thugfucker, made up of Greg Oreck and Holmar Filipsson, have been doing their thing for 8 years, with releases on Moodmusic, Life and Death (which Oreck runs with DJ Tennis) and their own Thugfucker Recordings imprint. Hedonistic and mischevious characters with a serious knowledge of how to rock a room, they're the perfect addition to our lineup. Tale of Us and Thugfucker also work together under the Life and Death moniker, as on the sublime Morgana, released on Visionquest late last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQIC2KkBHk8
UPDATE October 9th 2012
What a year it’s been - the jubilee, the olympics, mankind landing on Mars - so it’s only right that we celebrate, in true nofitstate tradition, with our annual New Years day party. The last nofitstate party was back in March, when we welcomed the mighty Will Saul and the force of nature known as tINI to throw down, so it’s been a while, but we’ve got a party lined up that’ll make the wait well worth it...
Ushering in the first night of 2013 for us will be living legends Âme, who first hit the scene over a decade ago - with their distinct brand of warm, rootsy detroit-inspired house seeing releases on Ostgut Ton, Sonar Kollektiv and, of course, Innervisions. Over the years Âme, aka Kristian Rädle & Frank Wiedemann, have consistently developed and grown as artists and performers, with a full live act and a deserved reputation as some of the finest DJ’s around. 2012 has arguably been their best year yet, with the release of their outstanding second full length album, Live, and a touring schedule that’s seen them wow crowds all over Europe.
Supporting Âme is one 2012’s shining lights, the irrepressible Maxxi Soundsystem. With releases and remixes to his name on Wolf Music, Futureboogie, Hot Waves, Nurvous and Needwant; and having spent the summer of 2012 touring the US, Maxxi Soundsystem is building up quite a head of steam. With almost a decade of Djing experience under his belt, his ability to move a dancefloor is right up there with his production genius and we can’t wait for him to bring his brand of shimmering disco infused house music to the party.
Joining Maxxi Soundsystem are his label bosses and one of the hottest crews of 2012 in their own right: the one and only Futureboogie. With an empire built in Bristol but rapidly spreading their wings across Europe and beyond, Futureboogie have had a year to be reckoned with. As well as the success of their label - Futureboogie Recordings, and their well established agency, the core members El Harvo and Joe 90 have been tearing it up from Ibiza to Croatia and this year also saw them celebrate their tenth anniversary in grand style with a series of sold out warehouse parties across the UK.
As ever, nofitstate resident Geddes will be on hand to kick 2013 off with a bang, having had another stellar year in 2012, with a release lined up on Mobilee as well as an EP on the new Murmur offshoot, nofitstate.
We’ve found an amazing location to hold the party at, which will be spread across two rooms and, as always, we’ll be paying meticulous attention to detail to ensure that the sound and overall production is second to none.
Stay tuned for more info...
