Since 2007, Bootie has been amassing a diverse, devoted fan base in New York City who love dancing to mashups! And now, due to your overwhelming demand, Bootie NYC is starting the New Year off right by going BI-MONTHLY at (Le) Poisson Rouge! That's right – now you can dance to a dose a Bootie mashups every other month, instead of just a few times a year!
Bootie is elated to be at LPR, one of Manhattan's best and most-respected venues for diverse, eclectic shows and events. Bootie and LPR share a similar unpretentious "get down and dirty" vibe, with a great love of music and up-for-it audiences. Come help us kick off our new residency!
Helping New York celebrate the jump in frequency will be Bootie creators and DJs A Plus D, as well as New York City's best mashup producer, DJ Lobsterdust. Also on the decks for a special late-night set will be Daw-Gun. They'll be throwing down the best mashups in the world, and celebrating the recent release of the new "Best of Bootie" album, which features tracks from all three. Taking the stage throughout the night to sing a few live mashups live will be glamorous divas Rebecca Cloudy and Danii Madassin, as well as Alejandro and Adrian. And of course, we've got FREE "Best of Bootie 2012" mashup mix CDs for the first 100 people through the door!
Launched in 2003 in San Francisco by A Plus D, Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup - and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities on four continents, from New York to Hong Kong, Berlin to Rio. Voted "Best Club Night" for the past seven years, Bootie keeps your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations, mixing and matching every musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party. Providing the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation - and free mashup CDs given away like candy - it's a place where everyone is welcome.
