Mindshake Records Teams Up With Minus Records for the 2013 Miami Winter Music Conference
Miami Beach, FL – The Mindshake Records label showcase returns to the Miami Winter Music Conference for the third straight year and this time teams up with Paco Osuna’s extended family, Minus Records. Mindshake and Minus host two rooms of international talent featuring Paco Osuna, Matador (live), Hobo, Carlo Lio, Kabale und Liebe (live), Tripmastaz, Julian Jeweil (live), Dela and NSound. The event takes place Tuesday, March 19th at one of Miami’s hottest locations in Miami Beach, Treehouse (www.treehousemiami.com), and is co-produced by ‘Link Presents’ and ‘Miami Rebels’, prominent Miami promotions outfits.
Headlining the Mindshake room is Paco Osuna, the internationally globe-trotting DJ, producer and label head. In addition to cultivating the Mindshake family, Osuna continues to find time between his hectic DJ schedule to maintain close ties with Minus and Plus 8, with the most recent Amigos Pt. 1/Pt. 2 and Four EP Plus 8 Records releases.
Topping the bill in the Minus room will be Matador (live) and Hobo, both artists that were featured prominently in the Minus Enter. residency in Ibiza last summer. Matador is an Irish DJ and producer based in Dublin who has quickly rose to prominence in 2012 with his Kingswing & Spooks EPs on Minus. Gavin Lynch’s live set explores the twisted but organic techno sound he’s best known for, not only on Minus, but also Perc Trax, Cocoon and Plus 8. With simple beginnings in between Canada and Detroit, Hobo’s young star has risen from total obscurity, to performances at some of the world’s hottest clubs, alongside its hottest DJs. Hobo is fresh off of his ‘Iron Triangle’ album release on Minus.
Canadian Carlo Lio is the only Mindshake artist other than Paco to return to the Mindshake line-up three years in a row. Lio's career has blossomed exponentially every year since his Mindshake debut. His signature style is driven by a
relentless, sexy, deep, pulsing, groove that is backed by flawless and imaginative mixing and mind-blowing programming, elements that can also be found in his productions for Mindshake and his own Rawthentic Music label.
Kabale und Liebe’s live set at the Mindshake showcase last year was one of the most talked-about sets from that week. Amsterdam’s Liron van Daalen returns with another repeat conference-exclusive live performance. Blending the old with the new and the minimalistic with the soulful, Kabale und Liebe has created a sound that appeals to technofreaks and househeads alike, his growing popularity marking a new era of approach between the two scenes.
Also featured in the Minus room is Tripmastaz. Tripmastaz is one of the few Russian DJs/Producers who earned respect from the international community and is a name that has been steadily pushing forward in the past years, with releases on Be As One, Moon Harbour, Cecille, and Magnetic Recordings (complete with a Loco Dice remix).
Rounding out the Mindshake lineup is label partner Dela, whose career has blossomed since playing the first conference showcase in 2011. With addictive originals and remixes getting heavy rotation in the interim from stalwarts like Dubfire and Marco Carola, we’re anxious to see why Dela has become one of the most whispered names in the American Tech House market. His premiere single, ‘Politico’, was also recently released on Mindshake.
Julian Jeweil and Nsound are new faces to the Minus/Plus 8 roster we are excited to hear play the Miami showcase. Julian Jeweil is an internationally acclaimed DJ and producer originating from the south of France who signed to Plus 8 in 2010. Nsound had two of his productions featured in Richie Hawtin’s 2012 Mixmag ‘New Horizons’ mix and is a new talent to watch.
