Wiggle 20th Birthday - Bushwacka, Terry Fancis, Nathan Coles, Evil Eddie Richards & Lale photo gallery
Only 100 Advanced tickets left now and then there will be 100 on the door first come first served.
From Wiggle's humble beginning, in 1994, at a disused garage in Camden. It's hard to believe we're this close to celebrating 20 years of moving London town to the sound of the underground. We're going back to our roots with the venue on this one and after a lot of thought, we've come up with the perfect warehouse in East London… Autumn Street Studios!
We're also pleased to announce our after party, well we had to have one! Will be at the Jamm in Brixton and starts at 6am and finishes when they kick us out!
Birthday boys Terry Francis, Nathan Coles and Evil Eddie Richards will be joined by some very fine feathered friends on the night!
Bushwacka's roots grew out of the underground warehouse parties and illegal outdoor raves that shook the foundations of the establishment, quite literally, and gave inspiration to a new generation of ravers. This anarchic environment gave Bushwacka total creative freedom, an ethos that continues to this day in his music, alway pushing the boundaries of House, Breakbeat, Techno, Downtempo and Ambient.
Lale from Belgrade will be playing along side us and what makes it even more special, is that Lale is also celebrating the 20th birthday of his much loved "Happy People" parties this year and that he was the first promoter in Serbia to bring Wiggle to the Capital 15 years ago. And we have been regular guests at "Happy People" ever since.
Wiggle – 20 Years Of House
It only seems like yesterday that I was writing about Wiggle's 10th anniversary, and now here we are a decade later, celebrating 20 years of underground ''house rhythms''. That's a remarkable achievement for a club night and, something that makes Wiggle pretty exceptional. So how did that happen? How can a night dedicated to music and dancing last so long, keep it's original audience and attract new followers with every passing year? In a word. . . consistency. Wiggle never went minimal. They didn't suddenly start booking nu disco Djs. Or randomly decide that dropping a bit of dub step might be the way forward. From day one Wiggle was all about proper, underground house music, played the way it should be. And as house music evolved, Wiggle evolved with it, often leading the way.
Which brings us around to Terry Francis, Eddie Richards and Nathan Coles. Three Djs that since day one, have always been the heart of the night – spiritually and musically. Sure, Wiggle has had some fabulous guests over the years, but perhaps more than anything, Wiggle is about it's residents, and, the relationship they have with their ever loyal crowd.
So, I wonder if I'll be sitting at my computer again in another 10 years from now, trying to find words to describe a party that for many (from South East London to South Eastern Europe and at loads of points in between) is the best club night on the planet.
I hope so.
