FRITZ KALKBRENNER: 20:30-23:00
Saturday 11th March will witness heavyweight Fritz Kalkbrenner land into the capital as he brings his Grand Depart Album tour to the world-renowned Roundhouse in Camden.
The German producer & DJ has made a name for himself with his unique productions and has built up a loyal following across the globe. The past few months has seen him perform high-profile shows at South West Four & Pleinvrees Festival as well as appearing in Ibiza at the world famous Amnesia & Space clubs. His last appearance in London witnessed him sell out the illustrious Electric Brixton weeks in advance as part of his Ways Over Water album tour. With the demand for his return increasing day by day, we are delighted to announce that Fritz Kalkbrenner will be returning to London to showcase his brand new album, GRAND DEPART.
The Album, which is set to be released on 14th October, encompasses Fritz’ wholehearted and holistic approach to music making and this album fully demonstrates that. an occasion that Fritz Kalkbrenner views as being the beginning of a taking an idea, working long and hard to finally achieve an incredible achievement of creation and pushing one’s own limits. It seems a fitting title for this musician’s new album who, despite never being one for following trends, seems to be bucking his own recognisable style somewhat in this new album.
Camden venue The Roundhouse will be playing host to this extraordinary event, and we couldn’t think of a more fitting place anywhere in London to do so. A converted railway engine shed, the Roundhouse’s iconic round shape lends itself to intimate, mind-blowingly immersive performances, and so the swelling melodies and dark, moody undercurrent of Fritz Kalkbrenner’s album Grand Départ will undoubtedly make the legendary status and unique structure of the Roundhouse sing. While we cannot wait for the album’s release on 14th October, the fact Fritz Kalkbrenner’s European tour will be reaching us here in London, and at such a unique venue, promises to be one of the big musical events of the year – and one to get seriously excited about.
