Truncate b2b Drumcell
When looking back over the course of one’s life, some decisions feel as if they were made just yesterday. This however, is rarely the case. It has been over 20 years since David Flores opted to make music his prime directive, first with Audio Injection, working side by side with Droid Recordings, and, for the past decade, under the Truncate moniker with which he strikes a harmonious balance between depth and raw power. We begin to grasp the breadth of his creativity when we come upon his work on labels as vastly different as Developer’s Modularz, Luke Slater’s Mote-Evolver or Modeselektor’s 50Weapons.
As for Moe Espinosa - also known as drumcell - he is a founding member of the Droid Behaviour collective and its offshoot label, Droid Recordings, who are primarily responsible for putting the Los Angeles techno scene on the map. Perhaps due to his roots in Industrial and Noise, this California resident never holds back when it comes to his cutting edge productions, as is clearly showcased on his releases for Dystopian or CLR (Official).
When the two meet in the DJ booth, they defy the simplistic logic that dictates that 1+1=2, their natural chemistry and singular vision prove that, apart they can do great things, but together they can attain previously unimaginable heights.
