Gare is getting ready for it's 9th anniversary and we plan on celebrating accordingly. As is customary on these occasions, we have invited a selection of guests who have accompanied us on our journey, however short it may have been; people who share our unconditional love for electronic music, who can relate to our vision and are committed to always being the best they can be. It is with them, and especially with those of you who encourage us to move forward and persevere, that we want to celebrate these past 9 years of existence. And we are only just getting started.
_To speak of Ellen Allien today, is to take a journey back in time, to the beginning of the 90's to see her at some of the most respected clubs of that era at the end of a decade that also saw her take her first steps into the music business with the founding of BPitch Berlin, whose early roster included some of the biggest names in modern dance music such as Modeselektor, Moderat, Paul Kalkbrenner or Apparat. At the beginning of the current century she released the first in a series of albums that would mark their respective years. Berlinette, Orchestra of Bubbles (with Apparat), Dust or LISm are true classics that showcase her ever evolving brand of electronica. Such is the nature of Ellen Allien, a true chameleon at home in uncharted territory, a visionary who frequently shapes the sound of the future. On this evening that marks the 9th anniversary of Gare, as is customary when she visits us, only one thing is certain: we will leave questioning the very nature of the so-called DJ set and what the music of tomorrow will sound like.
