Glitterball pairs up the Giallo Disco man Maiovvi with Detroit veteran Sharif Laffrey for a night of spacey, atmospheric dance floor jams.

Antoni Maiovvi (Giallo Disco Records | Death Waltz Recording Company | Bordello A Parigi | Crimes of the future | UK)
We're pleased to welcome back Antoni Maiovvi for his last gig in NYC for the foreseeable future. As self-described "electrodisco horror mindmelt DJ/live performer/film composer," Maiovvi also heads up Giallo Disco Records with Vercetti Technicolor. Bristol, U.K.-born (and soon to be based out of Amsterdam), Maiovvi is known for his distinctive brand of "horror disco," inspired heavily by the cult Giallo horror movies of the '60s and '70s and characterized in turns as "chilling mutant Italo disco," "strange, fantastical soundscapes that drum up visions of murder, death, and mayhem," and, simply, "the kind of disco music you’d find in a horror movie.”
Sharif Laffrey (Discos Capablanca | Love on the Rocks I Detroit)
A Detroit veteran, Sharif Laffrey was a neighbor of two of the Belleville Three and a part of DEMF/Movement's early days. Since then, he's been making some killer records on labels such as Discos Capablanca, Love on the Rocks, and Especial. Expect to hear a super diverse set from him that includes electro, techno, leftfield, acid, and beyond.
Andi has been bringing the sounds of new wave, post punk, industrial, and EBM to the crowds of New York for the last couple of years via both her DJ sets around the City and her very successful Synthicide monthly. She also hosts the Black Door Radio Show, which explores the darker side of electronic music. We are very happy to welcome her back!
Facets (Samo Records | Resident)
Our resident and curator Facets comes to Brooklyn by way of Belgrade and London with a passion for all things techno, house, acid, electro, and beyond. He recently founded Samo Records, a label setting out to explore the depths of the dancefloor by celebrating the darker, moodier facets of electronic music. The first release features a remix by Antoni Maiovvi.
