Chaos In The CBD
Deep Discs Residents
On June 1st Bristol’s Deep Discs and London’s Treehouse are putting their heads together to bring you The Lock In. We’re looking to celebrate the end of term and kickstart the summer in the right way with a night of sensuous music at the Old Crown Court. Forget all your studies and come and enjoy the music!
Chaos in the CBD (Rhythm Section)
Louis and Ben Helliker-Hales arrived from Auckland, New Zealand to the UK in 2012. They had already released on labels such as ClekClekBoom and Hot Haus, but shortly after landing in Peckham the two brothers bumped into Rhythm Section creator Bradley Zero on a London bus, and a musical marriage blossomed from there. They signed with Rhythm Section, and went on to produce some truly special EPs there (Midnight in Peckham, Invisible Spectrum). They are fast becoming known for their ambient late night style of house music, melancholic and meditative. There seems to be no stopping these two, and their rise has gone hand in hand with the ascendancy of Rhythm Section. Alongside the likes of Henry Wu and Al Dobson Jr., Chaos in the CBD’s music is now an inseparable part of the new London sound.
Borrowed Identity (Let's Play House / Mistress / Quintessentials)
In both his production and performance, Borrowed Identity has been described as a dance music chameleon, weaving between the different dance music genres with ease. Not being limited by musical category, Borrowed Identity is known for his ability to feed off the energy of his audience, and constantly evolving his sets by going with the motions of the crowd. Hailing from Berlin, he has turned heads at some of Europe’s heavyweight nightclubs (Panorama Bar, Concrete, Fabric) whilst also finding his groove further afield in Asia, Australia and Canada.
The artists will be wholeheartedly dolloping their sonic jedi sorcery into your ears.
