Rashad Becker, DE
Günter Schickert, DE
Goat, previously comprised of guitar, bass, drums and saxophone, create music unlike many of the rock bands. In their percussive songs, they mute the melodic instruments to reinforce the beat, and make frequent use of harmonics played outside the twelve-tone. After going through a reshape in early 2017 with a new lineup, they have moved on to build compositions that explore rhythmic aspect even further, centering on intertwining patterns of repetitive rhythms.
• Koshiro Hino (percussion / bass)
• Akihiko Ando (percussion / sax)
• Tomohisa “Soopy” Suzuki (percussion / drum)
• Takafumi Okada (percussion /drum)

Rashad Becker is a composer and musician residing in Berlin. His compositions are multilayered narratives populated by an ensemble of sonic entities, some smug, some shy, some agitators, others ready to surrender. Often there’s a tragic-comical touch, like a cartoon version of what could be a requiem from a dream (or just as much a fertility dance from another dimension).
Recent works include the cycle ‘Traditional Music Of Notional Species’ released across two volumes on PAN, and a multi-part work called ‘Based On A True Story‘ that derives scores from historical occurrences in a sort of ‘sonic staging’.

During the 1970s, Günter Schickert was probably the only musician to rival Manuel Göttsching in terms of guitar experiments. Equipped with a free jazz background, he manifested his status as a pioneer of the echo guitar on solo releases such as Samtvogel (Brain, 1975) and Überfällig (Sky, 1979). In 1973 Schickert founded the space rock trio GAM together with Axel Struck and Michael Aleska. To this day there were productions for theaters, numerous collaborations – including Klaus Schulze – as well as continuous excursions into realms of unexplored musical innovation with no genre boundaries.
