Slick Romanian minimal in one room, powerful techno in the other.
Room One: RPR Soundsystem
Room Two: fabric 96: DVS1 Launch
Anthony Rother (Electro Live Set)
We prepare for our annual December tradition with RPR Soundsystem in control. Landing from their Romania native land, the trio of Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu and Raresh are widely considered one of modern electronic music’s most influential forces. Through their label [a:rpia:r] they’ve pioneered a style of hypnotic, minimal techno, and helped lay the foundations for their home country’s fertile scene. The trio demonstrate this sound best in their back-to-back DJ sets, where extremely long play times, unreleased Romanian cuts, and rare house weapons are all definitive elements. Toi Toi Musik's Junki Inoue also steps in to play a warm-up set, before Rhadoo, Petre Inspirecu and Raresh take control for the rest of the night.
Over in Room Two, we’re hosting celebrations with one of techno’s most dynamic and exciting DJs as DVS1 launches his fabric 96 mix. An artist with over 20 years of graft behind the scene, Zak Khutoresky is widely considered an unmatched force in techno. His career started throwing raves in his Minneapolis hometown, while now he’s a member of the impressive roster of resident DJs at Berghain. His labels HUSH and Mistress have also become go-to avenues for high-class techno, with many of forthcoming cuts also featuring on his fabric 96 mix. For his launch party, he invites the singular electro artist Anthony Rother to perform live. Hailing from Offenbach’s fertile underground scene, Rother has been releasing standout productions via his Psi49net imprint for almost two decades. Oscar Mulero also joins. With work taking in techno, dub techno, IDM and experimental, the Warm Up honcho brings his informed electronic sound to round off a highbrow Room Two billing.
