Pretty Pretty Good have outdone themselves here, assembling a lineup with some of our favourite fringe-dwelling DJs.
DJ Sprinkles, Virginia, Objekt, rRoxymore, Joe
PPG returns to Hope Works for our first full venue show since we brought Paranoid London, Pangaea, Jane Fitz, Lurka and Laksa UK to Sheffield back in February! Not only that, but we've assembled our favourite line-up to date with world class artists playing from open until close across both rooms. The inimitable DJ Sprinkles makes her long overdue return to Sheffield and will be opening the warehouse on an extended set with his unique style of politically charged and provocative deep house. Berghain / Panorama Bar resident and Ostgut Ton regular Virginia will be joining her, commanding the mid-party slot with a set of impeccably selected house records layered with her rich, colourful and vibrant live vocals. Closing the night will be an extended set from Don't Be Afraid’s prodigious rRoxymore. Her leftfield and forward looking take on house and techno promises to be a perfect way to round out the warehouse.
Mesters promises to be seemingly free from the confines of genre and tempo. PPG favourite Objekt will be playing a 4 hour set to round off the night. This will be his third time playing for us and he has always delivered a masterclass in DJing. He's been desperate to get back in Mesters, so we have a feeling we might have a hard time peeling him from the decks at 7am! Expect a disorienting journey through strange and heavy strains of club music, but not before a 3 hour opening set from the highly elusive Joe, who's releases on the likes of Hessle Audio and Hemlock Recordings have become classics in their own self-referential and twisted way. Perhaps rarer than (but equally eclectic as) Joe’s productions, are his DJ sets. By our accounts, it will have been over 3 years since Joe last played, so it’s an absolute honour to have him back behind the decks just in time for his upcoming Hessle release. We really couldn't be more proud of this one so make sure you come down and open your mind to the weird and wonderful.
