Founded by Drumcell and brothers Raiz, Droid Behavior was started 15 years ago in Los Angeles as the underground warehouse event Interface featuring techno luminaries from around the globe, often for their USA debut (including Speedy J, Sandwell District, Surgeon, Ben Klock, Marcell Dettmann, Chris Leibing, Vexx'd), in addition to residents Drumcell, Raiz, and Truncate and Oktaform (Droid / Timewarp / Hyte) on visuals. Soon followed a record label featuring releases from its residents and friends, including Dustin Zahn, DJ Hyperactive, Flug, Luis Flores, and Kyle Geiger.
Since it's inception, it's garnered a global fan base for its quality audio and visual production, unique venues and packaging, well-curated bookings, and an overall vibe that remains unmatched in The States. As such, Interface and DROID nights have hit some of the world's most prestigious clubs and music festivals as follows - Movement in Detroit x 9, ADE in Amsterdam x 3, Berghain in Berlin x 3, Output in New York x 4, Stereo in Montreal, Concrete in Paris, Village Underground in London, Nitsa in Barcelona, Ampere in Antwerp, Sound Department in Taranto, Lehman Club in Stuttgart, Decibel Fest in Seattle, and Great Northern in SF.
Droid artists have been recently featured on podcasts and radio shows for Trax Magazine France, XLR8R, Slam, CLR, and Rinse FM. Droid artists have also been prominently featured in global music media including Resident Advisor, Electric Beats, Thump, Vice, Mixmag, Groove Magazine Germany, Trax Magazine in France, and Soundwall in Italy.
DJ Deep hails from Paris and for the last 20 years + has carried the torch for the undeniable intersection of techno and house through his releases on Distance and Tresor.Berlin (OFFICIAL), own label Deeply Rooted, and various DJ residencies. Breaking down these genres to their most rudimentary, Deep has been able to weave a story from scratch that interlaces both sounds flawlessly in ways that exceed all energy and expectations from either during his performances.
Steve Bicknell and his well famed LOST events are credited with exposing London to the burgeoning sounds of techno acid and Detroit coming from the US, Europe and beyond. Throughout the 90's his warehouse parties, as well labels, original productions and blinding DJ sets, Bicknell shaped the scene towards an appreciation towards a purist techno approach very similar to our own ethos at Droid Behavior. 25 + Years later his vision and talent has not been forgotten or faded away. Steve can now be found releasing on Ostgut Ton solo as well as part of LSD with Luke Slater and tours regularly at premier night life destinations in Europe. We are humbled to present him at Interface for the first time ever.
