Paigey Cakey, Fearz
Paige Meade is an ordinary girl. She lives in Hackney, northeast of London, and unlike her friends she has decided to start conquering the world little by little. At age 24, she has already released several EPs and has earned a good spot on the British hip-hop scene with her alias Paigey Cakey. It is, in fact, the new queen of the contemporary British trap.
Paigey Cakey -don't forget her name- has all the potential and charm to be heard beyond the internet nerds. After an adolescence living from within the development of the grime scene, the Londoner has published themes like 'Down' or 'Pattern'. Collaborations with Stormzy, Sneakbo or Chip speak for themselves. Her name is already read alongside IAMDDB and Little Simz when it comes to referents of British hip hop.
Lyte Was Nyte and Estrada are Fearz, a DJ and producer duo from Oviedo even though their crude armored ghetto house with traces of thug rap practiced by Ruff Ryders or The Neptunes at the beginning of the century suggests images of some underground club in Chicago or New York in peak rush hour. They proclaim lovers of forbidden technology, big asses, the Roland TB-303 and TR-909, velvet, leather bombers and internet. Following their international releases on BADLQQK and Main Course labels receiving instant support from top DJs like A-Trak, this year they have blowed up with hits like 'Lemme Hit It From Da Bak' or 'Dinero'.
