Joy Orbison, Jon Rust, Galyas, Conga Blue
Our end of term party is the biggest party we’ve ever planned. We’ve listened to you hazers and are reducing capacity, expanding the Room 1 dancefloor with extra sound and improving Room 2 to make Revs even better than last time!
Little needs to be said about why we have chosen Joy Orbison for our end of term party. His unique brand of garage-house has been celebrated for finding a sound that marries elements of house, two-step, jungle, techno and dubstep. Alongside the release of the gargantuan “Hyph Mngo” (released on Hot Flush in late 2009) and material on his own imprint, Hinge Finger, notorious mixes for BBC Radio 1, Ministry of Sound and most recently Dekmantel have only served to cement Joy Orbison’s renown. This is the biggest booking we’ve ever made and up there with one of the biggest Cambridge has ever seen – we hope you agree!
Joining Joy O on DJ duties is Jon Rust – every DJ’s favourite DJ. A born and bred Londoner Jon learned the ropes working at the legendary Plastic People and Rinse FM. Rust has been an NTS Radio resident from the station’s first week, gaining him fans from around the globe. He is now turning heads with his own imprint – Levels through which he has released music from the likes of LORD TUSK and Ajukaja & Andrevski, winning him the support of tastemakers as diverse as Ron Morelli, Benji B and Jamie xx, (who he supported on his European “Colours” Tour in 2015).
In support we have another b2b set from Galyas of Premature Recordings and Conga Blue of haze. It was special last time and it will be again we’re sure.
Room 2 – Line-up TBA afro/disco/house.
