Our last event of the year see's our first party at sweat-box Sneaky Pete's with one of our very favourite labels: Timedance.
As his Timedance label flourishes with releases by Ploy, Lurka and himself, Batu’s star as a DJ also continues to rise. There’s no shortage of talent in Bristol (though Timedance has as much history in Bath as its big neighbour), but nobody can claim to be carrying the flame passed on by pioneers like Pinch and Peverelist quite like Omar McCutcheon. His sets exist within house and techno but are built on the spaciness of dub. Staying true to the dubplate culture of 140, tracks by his peers are the bedrock of his mixes, the result of which is his truly singular sound. - Theo Kotz (Crack Magazine)
The young London based artist Ploy burst onto the scene in 2016 with his ‘Sala One Five’ EP on the legendary Hessle Audio, shortly after he went on to release a string of killer EP’s on Batu’s Timedance imprint. Late 2017 now sees the artist prep a new twelve for Untold’s Hemlock entitled ‘Unruly’.
Ploy’s unique sound has a place among the industries most innovative artists, having already mixed an Electronic Explorations podcast, held down multiple NTS shows and a week-long residency on Rinse FM, plus has an extra special mix coming later this year. He has DJ'ed in some of Europe’s top venues from Berlin’s Greissmuehle to London’s Corsica Studios and continues to focus on putting out more intriguing and adventurous music for the sound system and dance floor.- TSA Artists Biography.
