It is quite impossible to measure the dimensions of how Detroit has changed the perception of electronic music globally. Along with a new wave of sound created with Derrick May and Kevin Sanderson, Juan Atkins is considered one of the founding fathers of the techno genre, pushing a new path for dance floor focused music to a direction that is omnipresent in countless music, artists, and even lifestyles around the world. This is why Comunité Festival’s extended program will showcase an intimate presentation of the man himself in Tulum, along with Mexico City’s Wuuan, curator and co-founder of the festival, and Mexico’s Sueño label co-runner Soos – moulding past, present, and future of the electronic forms the Motor City has provided for us all.

The festival returns to the Mayan Riviera to a new, very special location in Tulum to celebrate its third edition – the most special yet. Comunité will migrate its community and a very carefully curated assembly of 25+ Mexican, Latin American and International artists to an amazing paradise to gather in a pristine environment.
Comunité explores different acoustic colors of Latin-America and other countries: this year Comunité focuses on a program based on alternative currents and the re-invention of traditional music forms.
