Son of Sound
Duane Harriott is one of our favorite New York selectors. He's been serving soulful tunes to New York's dance floors for over two decades. He's one half of Devin Dare, one half of Bim Marx, 100% of Desiree West and 100% amazing. Sharing the decks with him tonight is Henry Maldonado, aka Son of Sound. Henry is a native New Yorker and a dedicated producer who's released music steadily since 1991. His sound draws from early ‘80s R&B, soul, hip hop, electro-funk and house — which is to say, it's New York through and through.
Indoors at Nowadays is a gathering place with an amazing analog soundsystem and wood dance floor. The room was dreamt up and brought into being by the Mister Saturday Night and Mister Sunday guys.
We're on the border of Bushwick and Ridgewood, and we've got a full bar and kitchen that's open six days a week. We throw parties on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and we do immersive listening sessions called Planetarium on Sundays.
It's always free to come hang except for Fridays and Saturdays after 10pm and Sundays after 6pm. If you're tight on dough but wanna join us, you can buy early bird tickets here on RA, or you can RSVP for reduced or free entry on Fridays and Saturdays at http://nowadays.nyc/rsvp.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
