Listening to Scott Grooves’ excellent 1998 album, Pieces of a Dream, it comes as no surprise that his father is a jazz guitarist. He himself is a multi-instrumentalist (Grooves is a drummer, and he played keys for Kevin Saunderson’s Inner City), with a discography of house and techno records stretching over two decades, not to mention a list of collaborators that includes Roy Ayers, Daft Punk, Alton Miller and George Clinton. We’re honored to have him take the reins tonight. He’s even got a background in lights, so we’re handing over control of those, too. He’ll steer the ship from open to close. Show up early. Plan to stay late.

Indoors at Nowadays is a gathering place with an amazing analog soundsystem and wood dance floor. The room was dreamt up and brought into being by the Mister Saturday Night and Mister Sunday guys.
We're on the border of Bushwick and Ridgewood. We throw parties on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and we do immersive listening sessions called Planetarium on Sundays. In mid-January we'll open with food, drinks and good tunes playing on the hi-fi pretty much every day of the year.
Thursdays are free, and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays have a cover charge. If you're tight on dough but wanna join us, you can buy early bird tickets here on RA, or you can RSVP to get in for free before midnight on Fridays and Saturdays at http://nowadays.nyc/rsvp.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
