After a busy 2017 FLUX is back in a club setting inviting two world class selectors to keep you on the bump into the wee hours. Amped in Fortitude Valley will be filled with groove laden beats as the rising global forces of Monika Ross & Katie Drover bring their signature sounds to Brisbane. On support FLUX founder Thilini who recently appeared at Subsonic Music Festival alongside our headliners is sure to set the mood just right. Shake a tail feather, beat the heat and join us for the night as we come together in aw of the talent that our homeland has to offer.
Australian born spinstress Monika Ross is an artist akin to the ethos of FLUX consistently pushing her craft forward. Beginning in Sydney as DJ Monika has spread her wings and dazzled Europe with her talents in and out of the booth coupling her selecting skills with a heavy hitting back catalogue of production with sounds deeply rooted in deep organic dub, tech and jazz. Both her own tracks and her selections are powerful yet refined, characterized by swinging percussive grooves and infectious bass lines. With work on labels such as Serialism, Fuse and FA>IE Monika is a FLUX favourite and we are delighted to bring her to Brisbane.
Katie Drover, another Australian born star has long been known in her hometown of Melbourne and more recently the motherland Berlin where her new label Dokutoku Records was born. With a long history dazzling dancefloors Katie is not one to rest on her laurels rather she is on the path of constant evolution delving deeper into the production fields and never ceasing to continue the mastery of her craft since cutting her teeth at Room680 back in 2002. Bringing you fresh cuts straight from the belly of the underground we couldn’t be more pleased to have Katie on the bill.
