On February 16th, Worst Behavior brings together breaks purveyors from drum & bass to techno in an intimate venue for a unique exploration of forward-thinking sound system culture.
One of DnB's most innovative artists, Samurai Music’s Homemade Weapons creates what his name implies: minimal tracks that cut with the precision of sharpened knives. In a series of EPs and a full-length album, Homemade Weapons has showcased his dynamism with razor-sharp productions weaving and unfolding together in a powerfully hypnotizing combination of skill and storytelling. His modern stripped back drum patterns infused with classic breaks revive the experimental spirit of the genre while nodding to its Dub roots.
A pillar of the East Coast DnB scene, Mizeyesis wins hearts with her uplifting, conscious sound and impressive range of undertakings, which include: productions released on Faction Digital Recordings and Omni Music, her six-year running show on Jungletrain, “The Aural Report”, supporting the CT scene with local events like HEADY, and additionally managing the all-women artist collective DNB Girls. Mizeyesis will delight with her signature lush, atmospheric jungle and drum & bass from the heart.
Aquarian's fusion of techno, grime, and jungle are aimed squarely at the dance floor. His peak-time bangers, featuring massive bass swells sprinkled with scorched-earth breaks have cemented him as an artist to watch by Resident Advisor, Mixmag, BBC Radio One and more. With early releases on UNO NYC, Aquarian has since expanded his mutated rave sound onto his own Hanger Management imprint. Aquarian's food-inspired tracks and immediate approach to sound and space leave a fully satiated dance floor.
NYC-based Shy Eyez brings a bass-lover’s hybrid of dub and jungle-infused techno, a sound she has been honing and supporting locally and abroad through her regular party “Breakz” at Bossa Nova Civic Club and monthly show on Bristol’s Noods Radio. Shy Eyez's passion for breaks and deep knowledge of everything-bass translates into dynamic dance-floor journeys.
Finally, your hosts and Anna Morgan (Heavy) and Bell Curve (Sweat Equity) will show off the hybrid bass sound of Worst Behavior.
