Chaos In The CBD
We are incredibly excited to have Chaos in the CBD headlining our easter party at the Bullingdon, With their ever strengthening production credentials, the brothers have been able to mark themselves out as one of the most eminent underground duos to emerge out of the South Pacific.
Perhaps best known for their stratified, ear-catching rhythms, Chaos In The CBD is the house moniker of New Zealand brothers Ben and Louis Helliker-Hales. Though their music evokes the time-honoured heritage of classic house, their interpretation of jazz brings a unique inventiveness to the genre.
The brothers’ ceaseless momentum led to the start of their own label In Dust We Trust, a collaboration with childhood friend Jon Sable. The label’s first offering, Accidental Meetings, exemplifies their considered production; energetic progressions that mature as the motifs develop.
Supporting this world class duo is O'Flynn. One of the standout 12 inches of 2015 came from the unlikely source of O’Flynn, a young British producer who inaugurated a new imprint Blip Discs with two tracks of percussive and powerful, African-influenced house music. ‘Tyrion’ became a tool for Four Tet that was rarely left out of his sets, while the anthemic ‘Desmond’s Empire’ won support from Gilles Peterson and was used to devastating effect across festivals in the summer. An enviable way to launch your career, but he’s not dwelling too much. His follow-up for Blip Discs has already got Radio 1 and Rinse airtime from James Blake and Hessle Audio respectively, while also showing off a different side to his productions on the B-side.
See you all in the dance.
