In so many aspects, Techno can be considered to be the rawest form of electronic music. It is almost entirely liberated from elements that we are familiar with in mainstream music and relies mostly on repetitive, percussive elements that gives it its somewhat monotonous, yet powerful nature.
It is exactly from this reason that in many techno parties, that is - proper techno parties, one cannot tell the beginning from the end. The notion of warmup hardly exists and whatever's being played at 2am could easily be repeated five hours later. It seems that many techno nights are challenged when trying to point out the various shades that darkness has to offer and when trying to offer a story that develops from a starting point throughout peaks and lows and towards a mesmerizing end.
The Expeditions series attempts to tell you this story and to take you on a special musical journey. Our expedition will take place on two ships, or rather, a ship and a boat. One the first, we will showcase the various modern perception of Techno, starting with a melodic chapter, moving to an energetic, groove loaded peak and ascending to a second half of the night with the pure, sophisticated hypnotic and atmospheric interpretations of the genre. The end will be a flexible one, like in every story, it can be a boom, and it can be slow, sweet death. That's up to the artist.
On the second floor, you will find our rescue boat. A tiny place for forgiving music, and its own development and interpretations. From old school disco to nu-disco. From 70's to 80's to 90's music. From old school rap to modern hiphop. Also there, you will be part of a journey that one cannot tell how it will end.

In vielerlei Hinsicht ist Techno die roheste Form der elektronischen Musik. Er ist fast vollkommen losgelöst von den Elementen, die wir aus der Mainstream-Musik kennen, und vertraut hauptsächlich auf sich wiederholende ‚schlagende‘ Elemente, die seine monotone aber kraftvolle Natur sind.
Aus diesem Grund kann man bei vielen Techno Partys, wo tatsächlich nur purer Techno gespielt wird, den Anfang und das Ende der Nacht gar nicht voneinander unterscheiden. Der Begriff Warm-Up existiert kaum - was morgens um 2 gespielt wird, könnte auch fünf Stunden später wiederholt werden. Es scheint, dass viele Techno-Nächte ihre Probleme haben, die vielen Facetten zu zeigen, die das Dunkle zu bieten hat und eine Geschichte zu erzählen, die einen Anfang, Höhen und Tiefen sowie ein fesselndes hypnotisierendes Ende hat.

Die Expeditions Serie möchte euch diese Geschichten erzählen und euch auf ganz besondere musikalische Reisen entführen. Unsere Expeditionen werden auf zwei Schiffen stattfinden, oder eher, auf einem Schiff und auf einem kleineren Boot. Ersteres wird euch die modernen verschiedenartigen Auffassungen von Techno zeigen. Beginnend mit einem melodischeren Kapitel, fortführend zu einem energetischen, mit Groove geladenen Höhepunkt und schließlich aufsteigend zu der zweiten Hälfte der Nacht, mit reinen, anspruchsvoll hypnotisierenden und atmosphärischen Interpretationen des Genres. Das Ende können wir nicht vorhersehen; es könnte ein großer Knall mit anschließender Stille werden..oder ein langsamer süßer Tod - das überlassen wir dem Künstler.
Der zweite Floor ist unser kleines Rettungsboot. Ein winziger Ort für versöhnlichere Musik und ihre eigenen Entwicklungen und Interpretationen. Von Old School Disco bis zu Nu-Disco. Von 70’s bis 80’s bis 90’s. Von Old School Rap bis zu modernem HipHop. Auch hier, ist das Ende unserer Reise nicht vorhersehbar
