Feminism stands for a better life for everyone. It rejects discrimination of any kind. No utopia without feminism. No feminism without utopia.
CHOOSE: means that all revenue flows into our political projects.
Before the party, we’ll be hosting a conference on materialistic feminism. So, once again: come early, leave late!
The location is wheelchair accessible.
What kind of a part do we want? Parties aren’t a substitute for activism. But parties can help finance projects and struggles. Parties can also be political spaces. What does it mean for us when we say we organize a feminist, an emancipatory, a political party?
CHOOSE: queer and female* artists
At our parties we only book a maximum of 50% cis-male artists. Yes, we want really good music. But we don’t believe that there are so many more male DJs out there, simply because guys just make better music, but rather patriarchal and sexist power structures (also) exist in the music world. That’s why we keep our eyes open, actively searching for women* and queer artists and reflect this in our booking policy.
To further combat the gender imbalance on the DJ circuit in the long-term and to promote non-cis-male artists in the future, we’re offering a free 3-hour DJ*-ing workshop for FLTI* (women, lesbian, trans and inter) guests right before the party, to run alongside the conference. There is high demand and in the past the places were fully reserved within hours. That makes us very happy and we’ll continue to offer free workshops for FLTI* guests before our parties in the future.
Everyone should be able to feel safe at our parties (except assholes like Nazis, macho-types and sexists – they shouldn’t even bother coming). We have an awareness team that can be approached throughout the party if you experience any situations that cross your boundaries or when you’ve observed such situations. Our awareness team will side with those affected and seek to deal with the situation, offering support. We urge everyone to reflect on their own behaviour, respect the boundaries of others, and never act without consent.
Menschmeier is a club we can really identify with. The club not only regularly hosts benefit parties, but also offers spaces for many other political events and projects. We’re also a big fan of collectives. In addition, the premises are wheelchair-accessible.
All proceeds from our parties flow back into our political projects. Each party supports a different cause which you can find out more about on the respective event description. If you’re unable to afford entry, you can arrive before midnight and simply pay a (small) donation of your choosing.
