Mister Saturday Night: Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter
**UPDATE: Advance ticket sales have finished but we will be welcoming guests who would like to pay on the door. Thanks!**
Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin are the longtime collaborators behind Mister Saturday Night – a party series approaching ten years in existence. In that near decade, Harkin and Carter have run a record label that's released ambient musings from Gunnar Haslam, heavy noise from Hank Jackson, weird bangers from Keita Sano and dead classics from Anthony Naples (as well as folky lullabies from Justin and stinging acid trax from Eamon). They've also created a spinoff sister party called Mister Sunday, now a New York institution; they've DJed on six continents; and they've opened Nowadays, the sweet sounding, multi-faceted home of tonight's party.
Beyond spending time building their own little universe, Harkin and Carter are also deep diggers of all types of music: their monthly Lot Radio show features everything from choral music and pre-war blues to techno and new wave. With the cold weather receding (we hope), the guys will soon hang up their Mister Saturday Night hats for a couple months to focus attention on the outdoor party, so if you like your Misters late and smokey, now is the time to grab a dance until dawn. We'll soon be mixing up the sangria and heading outside.
Indoors at Nowadays is a gathering place with an amazing analog soundsystem and wood dance floor. The room was dreamt up and brought into being by the Mister Saturday Night and Mister Sunday guys.
We're on the border of Bushwick and Ridgewood, and we've got a full bar and kitchen. We throw parties on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and we do immersive listening sessions called Planetarium on Sundays.
We have a cover charge after 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and after 6pm on Sundays. Aside from that, it's free to come hang. If you want to join us on a weekend night, but you're a little tight on dough, you can buy early bird tickets here on RA, or RSVP for reduced or free entry on Fridays and Saturdays at http://nowadays.nyc/rsvp.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
