Kassem Mosse (live)
Room 2: Joe and Gatto Fritto
On week six of his XOYO residency, Ben UFO takes it somewhere weird and wonderful…
Honing her craft through a long-running residency at the legendary Dusseldorf party Salon Des Amateurs, Cologne-based DJ Lena Willikens has proved that nothing trains a DJ quite like a residency. Leading the charge when it comes to obscure sounds and bizarre new dancefloor territories, Willikens’ sheer talent is evidenced through her ability to take crowds into evermore bold and uncharted destinations. Flipping between raw house, proto-techno and strange industrial sounds, she holds an uncanny skill for maintaining the same dancefloor energy no matter where the music goes.
One of the most revered underground house producers of the past two decades, Kassem Mosse’s spacey, brooding and often deeply emotive music has reached legendary status among music fans and DJs alike. An enigmatic figure, whose largely untitled discography acknowledges the often mystifying nature of the music, it’s great excitement that we welcome Kassem Mosse.
Ever-since his first release on Hessle Audio in 2009, Joe has remained an integral figure in the UK scene. Recognised for his weird, lighthearted take on dancefloor productions, we can’t wait to hear what he has in store in room 2. London-based DJ Gatto Fritto joins him.
