DJ, producer, auteur: Daniel Avery brings his distinctive, alternative take on techno to Hidden Door Festival 2018 in the stunning old Leith Theatre. Influenced by everything from ambient to shoegaze, no-one else does it quite like this. His hedonistic blend of slo-mo electro and machine wizardry has established him as an artist whose artistic vision is matched by his technical proficiency on deck.
Touring his new album "Song For Alpha" this will be Avery's only Scottish date so this is not a night to be missed.
With reviews like this, why would you want to?
"This is the album that will deservedly see Avery achieve the kind of acclaim and reverence that he has for those that have influenced him." - PopMatters
"The hypnotic textures of Boards of Canada, the jittering slow motion techno of Aphex’s Selected Ambient Works, and even the more out there drunken synth melodies of LFO and early Autechre all seemingly play a part..." - Drowned In Sound
"Song For Alpha serves as a reminder that dance music remains worthy of the album treatment. It should become part of your life." - Exclaim!
