If-Only's third edition brings you Leif and Low Jack—his first gig in London in years—for a heavy night at Five Miles in Seven Sisters.
Low Jack, Leif
C’est l’heure du riddim.
Both built of rhythm but from different sides of the line, our DJs for our third outing are Leif and Low Jack. Masters of the same subject from separate directions.
Leif is known for the lithe, precision logic and dreamtime macrobeats which make his music. It’s perfumed, densely woven, neuro-bubbling. Boy still swings a heavy weight. He’s come to prominence with beautiful releases and mixes on myriad platforms, particularly his (co-run) UntilMyHeartStops and (own) TIO-series, and his involvement with the Freerotation elite. A potent force as a controller and producer, there’s no flex just formula.
Low Jack is also familiar to many, from his eponymous Rinse show and as a head of Gravats; his touch is the more solid, more forceful. Singularity riddim, mutant Kuduro, distortia obscura (maxima voltage), molten industrial with techno weight, as clean as Blackstrap molasses. His reputation is as heavy as his sound, it is a privilege to bring him back to London for the first time in years.
We’ll fill the hall at Five Miles for this one, going to be madness. Cheap tickets available now, more OTD.
