FunkinEven will bring his warm, jazzy analog house and techno vibe to Good Room.
Steve Mizek & Savile in the Bad Room
Over the past two years Martyn has used his 3024 residency to showcase some of the best talent from the world over and share his electronic futurism with the dancefloor. But this June edition will be something special. The Dutch-born, DC-based producer will share his new album, 'Voids' with us as he does his first live set at the club.
The record was put together over the past year after narrowly avoiding death from a heart attack. When Martyn reentered his studio and began a process of reassessing the elements that drive him to make music: sampling, unpredictability, melancholy, sci-fi, polyrhythms, texture, ecstatic moments, Detroit, interlocking percussion and bass. The result was Voids, his first LP for Ostgut Ton. It's markedly different than his previous records with the futuristic sonic qualities coalesce into something darker, more biographical and untethered from expectations.
Martyn has asked British producer FunkinEven to be his guest at this party. FunkinEven channels ominous analog techno, drifting synth-house masterpieces, jazz-fusion, warm soul and hints of new age into his productions. He makes his Good Room debut, following the release of his mini LP 'Bloodline' in April. Local Shy Eyez is on warm up duties for the party. Good Room residents and the men behind Argot / Tasteful Nudes, Steve Mizek and Savile, return to the Bad Room for another all nighter.
