Batu warming up for Levon Vincent on one of the world's best soundsystems is a thrilling prospect.
Marcel Dettmann (4 hour set)
Farringdon invites some of electronic music’s top selectors for a night of supreme techno, electro, EBM and bass-oriented rhythms. Room One is led by Marcel Dettmann, master of high-class techno and cornerstone of the peerless Ostgut Ton roster. At his Berghain residency Dettmann is known for playing marathon sets exploring the full scope of his sound world, and in recent years he’s brought this sound to Room One’s Martin Audio rig on his regular extended sessions. He returns for a 4-hour set this August. Also billed is Levon Vincent, the singular producer and pioneer of the New York house sound. Across all of his work Vincent shows a flair for writing idiosyncratic and highly distinctive deep house records, many of them by now modern house music’s most highly-acclaimed dancefloor hits. Rounding off the Room One bill is Batu, who brings his bass-inclined Bristolian sound to the space for his Saturday night debut.
DJ Stingray leads the charge in Room Two. One of Detroit’s leading DJs and producers, the artist named Sherard Ingram has spent his career at the forefront of the electro sound. Ingram’s presented a raw side to the genre across a number of labels over the last decade, and during his sets he shows this by bringing a punchy energy to the dancefloor. A leader of last year’s electro renaissance, we’re very excited to welcome him to Room Two this summer. Also joining is Anastasia Kristensen, the rising selector and digger of high calibre techno and IDM. Saoirse brings her eclectic mix of techno, electro, house, IDM and jungle to round off the bill.
