MAIN SQUEEZE: Mo Fingaz and BobaFatt originally met on the South-West DJ circuit many years back. A decade ago they threw their first joint party at a venue in Kings Cross, called Main Squeeze. In the past 10 years, the duo have garnered a rep as two of the fiercest party rockers in the capital, individually and when they combine as Main Squeeze.
BLUE LAB BEATS consists of North-West London duo, NK-OK and Mr DM. They’ve quickly come to the attention of radio and club tastemakers across the land with their expert fusion of boom bap hip hop, neo-soul and contemporary jazz, releasing their debut album ‘Xover’ earlier this year to widespread acclaim. Riding high in the city’s current vibrant jazz scene, they’ve collaborated with artists such as Kojey Radical, Moses Boyd and Nubya Garcia. Blue Lab Beats will be performing LIVE at MS10!
HUGH HARDIE is a Bristol-based drum & bass producer and one of the scene’s brightest new talents. Signed to Hospital Records, his debut album ‘Colourspace’ landed last year, and was filled with liquid rollers, jazzy riffs and feel-good flavours. Inspired by an eclectic mix of styles, from label-mates High Contrast, Nu:Tone and Logistics, to neo-soul / r&b artists like Erykah Badu, to deep pads and old school stabs of house and garage, Hugh is no stranger to lighting up dancefloors across Europe.
SHORTEE BLITZ is the UK's number one hip hop and club DJ, winning ‘Best DJ’ at the MOBO's in 2003, and subsequently being recognised as the UK’s ‘Best Hip-Hop DJ’ and ‘Best Hip-Hop Personality’, as well as being nominated for Best Radio DJ (U.M.A.) in 2007. Through his numerous performances with artists ranging from De La Soul and LL Cool J, to Jay-Z and Nas, he’s firmly established himself internationally. These days he can be caught regularly on Kiss FM and on 4Music.
EVM128 is a deeply eclectic DJ and producer, and an integral part of the Selectors Assemble crew, born out of the infamous CoOp Presents camp. As a producer, he’s one of the most exciting creators of dance music in the country, ably turning his hand to bruk, garage, house, beats and bass, collaborating and remixing the like of Omar, Scott Garcia & Bugz In The Attic, and creating music applauded by Annie Mac, Ross Allen, Gilles Peterson & LTJ Bukem to name a few. Bad man.
MR THING is dubbed "your favourite DJ's favourite DJ" with good reason. Brought to notoriety as a Scratch Pervert and DMC champ, his skills are matched with an astounding knowledge of music. He's released a series of acclaimed comps for BBE, and produces music too; most recently a collaborative LP with Micall Parknsun and featuring on Children of Zeus’ debut LP. Despite his gentleman-like good nature, don't get it twisted; he will destroy everyone in his path on the ones and twos.
BOBAFATT has been DJing parties since the early '90s. His mixes and club sets have seen him awarded acclaim over the years from BBC 1Xtra, Mixcloud and Fact Magazine readers. In addition to his various radio spots (NTS, Itch FM, Worldwide FM, Balamii and a regular Soho Radio show with Mo Fingaz), he's spun several times for BBC Radio 6 Music & Solid Steel, is a resident at Soundwave Festival in Croatia, and label manager of First Word Records, previously working extensively for the likes of Rough Trade and R&S Records.
MO FINGAZ began DJing in the early noughties, as part of Bristol D&B collective Drive By, and as part of The Snugs, alongside Swaby of The Heavy. These days, when he's not making beats or digging for breaks, he's resident DJ for London Hip Hop crew, The Doctor's Orders, for which he was named one of the “Top 10 Resident DJs in the UK” by Red Bull in 2017. All this in addition to being a regular player at the Hospitality events, being co-founder of vinyl accessorists, Near Mint Club, and hosting a monthly Soho Radio show, 'Main Squeeze: In Stereo'.
Suncut (aka Neal Birnie) is one of our favourite DJ's hands down, well established at rocking spots with his section of deep soul, disco, rare boogie and 2-steppers. Top dog at Suncut Records, wax carver at the Hackney Carvery pressing plant, a regular on NTS Radio and a collector of beautiful music, Suncut is big in the game. Serious Business.
JP is a veritable legend amongst London record diggers and revered as one of the capital’s top draw selectors. Along with his vinyl vendor duties, he's held down residencies at Bar Rumba, Club YoYo and the MTV Lick parties, alongside Ronnie Herel & Trevor Nelson, as well as slots at Pacha in Ibiza and regular appearances at Southport Soul Weekender.
MAIN SQUEEZE combined have over four decades experience rocking parties, with cuts of precision and tracks of fusion, sharing stages with legends, and bookings between them over the years from Fabric, Ministry Of Sound, Brixton Academy, Royal Albert Hall, Somerset House, Koko, The Roundhouse, The Forum, The Jazz Cafe, Glastonbury & Cannes, to name a few. Their unmistakable brand of dancefloor murkage incorporates Hip Hop, R&B, Swing, Dancehall, Reggae, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Disco, Garage, Grime, D&B, Jungle, Beats, Bruk, Bass and whatever else they manage to squeeze into the session.
Celebrating 10 years of unadulterated dancefloor damage, as always, expect the dance to get merked officially, efficiently, standardly, regularly, this time across two floors!
Runs 10pm-5am / £5-10 Adv from RA or £12 OTD
