//.05// This is our last gig until Autumn and we’re coming correct. Behavior is proud to host an unofficial release party for his new album “Among The Methods.” Vinyl copies will be available!!
The Philadelphia-based record imprint Great Circles makes their way to Richmond for a night of techno.
M//R (Great Circles, LIES) - Billy Werner came up in New York when punk and hardcore were in full swing, leading to a stint as the frontman for bands Saetia and Hot Cross. Finding himself in the electronic music scene of the early-2000s, Werner began producing material shortly thereafter. After years of edits and releases, Werner focused his energy in a darker sound with releases on labels Great Circles, LIES (founded by long-time friend Ron Morelli), and other like-minded labels who were combining on and off dancefloor sound. Werner now celebrates the release of his first full LP "Among The Methods," a culmination of experiments and stand-alone tunes that create one solid arc of techno headiness one can come to expect from the producer.
Westov Temple (Great Circles) - The ongoing moniker of Great Circles label overlord Justin Gibbon is shrouded in mystery much like his song titles. Along with the label, Gibbon has operated the infamous Inciting parties in Philadelphia, hosting a wide array of electronic artists over the years. The parties and space, much like the label, have acted as a home for the darker, heavier sound of techno and have been a mainstay for artists like Derek Plaislako, Kassem Mosse, and others on the gritty end of the spectrum. We are extremely excited to host his live performance which can range sonically from a dirtbike doing a freak wheelie in Philly to 4 on the floor techno. Not to be missed.
Chaperone (Great Circles, Bastakiya Tapes) - Chaperone is the tape techno project of David Coccagna. Releases from labels like Great Circles, Bastakiya Tapes, and Always Human can range from droning soundscapes to techno assault. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Coccagna has recently relocated to Richmond and has worked at length with the local Behavior crew. Expect a live set of immersive field recordings, broken drums, and tape hiss.
Donation (Behavior) - Donation is a record slinger of the greasiest degree. Mixes and sets for the Behavior team have ranged from thoughtful sound collage to battering ram gabber with every BPM possible between. He will be on opening and closing duties so expect the same kind of range.
Event location will be announced the day of the event.
Behavior: sonic therapy for squalid souls.
