High Focus Records agenda is something we can get behind - since 2010 they have been at the leading edge of pushing hip hop culture in the UK, raising a cast of rap talent along the way. The Four Owls head up their Room One takeover, made up of label boss Fliptrix along with Verb T and BVA they are joined by a string of stars from the label. Mixing up between classic hip hop grooves and black-edged beats Dirty Dike, Dabbla, Coops, Onoe Caponoe, Ed Scissor, Datkid, Pitch 92, DJ Sammy B-Side, Molotov and Frosty will all be repping. The night will be set off by DNB in the hands of Offkey & NV and a Jungle set from Pete Cannon & Jman.
Drumsound & Bassline Smith then bring Technique Recordings to Room Two and the Pioneer Pro Audio System. This label was established in the same year as our disco - they have 19 years of pushing boundaries and building up a staggering roster of talent. For this takeover they’ve invited South-East London duo Tantrum Desire to join them in the booth along with 1Xtra DNB ambassador Crissy Criss and DJSS & Navigator who are drawing deep from their crates for a special jungle set. Off the back of a sell out tour and hype from Radio One for his new productions, Youngman will be bringing his famed live set to Farringdon with a full band setup. Also unmissable and exclusive in this takeover Phantasy & Skibadee are coming together for the first time. Rounding out the bill are scene stalwart L Plus & rising talents No Concept.
Finally we welcome Nottingham collective Tumble Audio to Room Three for their first time representing the sound of their hybrid jungle, rave, bassline and garage mashing aesthetic. Running for three years they have already amassed 30 dancefloor-ready releases on their label taking in all the best elements of UK sounds. Off Me Nut Records’ primary bassline enthusiast Phatworld is heading up the bill plus Killjoy lends his grime edged beats to the mix along with Bristol DJ duo Fish & Sherry S and funky, breaks and darkness master Leda Stray. The latest artists to release on Tumble Audio Exit99 come all the way from Australia for their debut London set and the boss of it all Hank Limit completes the bill.
