BORN N BREAD
Based out of Leeds Good Life have grown their rep for presenting world class talent in the best environments for the last 5 years. Their motto of ‘Redefining The Party’ outlines what they do perfectly - bringing together some of the ultimates in club music covering the sounds of dubstep, afrobeat and disco sounds underneath other-wordly production. For their Room One takeover not only will they be installing the full Good Life experience in the space but they’ve invited London’s defining dubstep pioneer Benga to return to our Martin Audio system. Dancehall and jungle don Top Cat joins him on the bill for a live PA along with one of Manchester’s most prized selectors Chunky. One of London’s best love DJ duos The Menendez Brothers also land along with Good Life residents Just William, Hecha & OK Williams with a broad spectrum of party warming house and garage.
One half of the Newham Generals and one of the capital’s most pioneering forces in grime, Footsie brings his King Original banner to Room Two. Taking name inspiration from his father’s sound system - this event series unites some of the best strands of the culture connecting the dots between all facets of bass music. This lineup brings together the leading artists working in grime and dubstep today with Novelist leading the charge along with Sir Spyro, Blacks, Capo Lee, Jackdat & Jammz, Jamakabi, Grandmixxer + Mez & Spitz, Sukh Knight & Brakeman, Sir DJ Corey, SK Vibemaker, DJ Argue and King Original himself with his dubwise collection.
She Said So have been pushing women forward in music since the international network first began. After working with them to produce a workshop series, now we have invited them to program Room Three presenting some of the best talent from the bass led side of their community. Carly Wilford heads up the space with her bass powered house which is set to sit perfectly beside J Distant’s touch on deep afro sounds. Then Hazel Marimba brings percussive constructs to the floor along with NTS show hosts and south London zine makers Born N Bread who prepare to present their RNB led sound. Finally Ellie Prohan lands on the hip hop tip.
