Minimal Violence (live)
The Panther Room:
Projections by Glowing Bulbs
Hot on the heels of the last epic GRAYSCALE is another end-of-summer techno spectacular this Saturday full of all sorts of delights to pummel your ears. In the immortal words of Shakespeare: “Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more.”
Output opens with the hypnotic and emotive sounds of Brooklyn’s Cory James, meticulously setting a shadowy tone to begin the evening. An incendiary live performance from Vancouver’s minimal violence follows; their frenetic euphoria is beamed out via clattering rhythms and acidic synth anarchy. Berlin’s FJAAK takes over with a sonic onslaught of dizzying techno as the trio smash through a no-nonsense live set of pure hardware madness. Rebekah goes straight for the jugular with a punishing close to the night that conjures the Berlin-based artist’s hard-as-nails Birmingham roots during the 1990s. Projections by Glowing Bulbs / Kiégő Izzók.
The Panther Room gets a full evening takeover from the Techno Bangs collective, which focuses solely on women, female-identifying and non-binary artists of the genre. Rising local talents Veblen Defect, Lethal Trip, Elle Dee and HARUKA showcase their fresh and innovative interpretations of underground club tracks while filling the space up with new faces and Grayscale regulars alike to dance until the morning.
