This November, we are proud to bring to the basement J.D. Twitch, one half of the legendary and internationally renowned clubbing institution Optimo.
This is a very intimate 100 capacity venue and will sell out so don't sleep on tickets. Ticket sales are initially restricted to one per person. Last entry 11pm.
Many of you will be instantly famililar with the influence J.D. Twitch has brought as part of Optimo for over three decades. Optimo sat at the very epicentre of the Scottish clubbing consciousness in its weekly residency in the Sub Club, widely regarded as one of the most improtant and ground-breaking clubs of the past 10 years; at one point earning them the prestigous title of Mixmag "Club of the Year". Previously, he was the resident DJ at the legendary Pure in Edinburgh, a club started with his former partner, behind the decks, Brainstorm.
J.D Twitch has been releasing material under various guises for over fifteen years as J.D. Twitch, Betty Botox, Sonic Assasins, Mount Florida, and recently as Doubleheart in partnership with Edinburgh's Neil Landstrumm - with their third 12" Ep "Roots" released on fellow Glasweigan label High Sheen. Twitch has previously remixed under the name Optimo (Espacio) but now works under the J.D. Twitch moniker, remixing nearly 30 artists in the last year. His is also the creative and curating force behind the Optimo Music label, overseeing the release of a varied roster.
Twitch is also the creator of the Autonomous Africa label, which has been a personal favourite of Stirling Underground for some time, and a singificant influence on our musical style. J.D. Twitch's Autonomous Africa series is something of a rarity. Each annual 12" single, which features modern electronic music influenced by African rhythms, sounds and styles, is used to raise money for a different African charity.
