LAPLUSTRE (DJ Sveta + Estée Louder)
Control is in bloom for Spring.
For this edition, we have the pleasure of welcoming some very special international guests:
ALIENATA (Discos Atónicos, Spain)
Spanish-born, Berlin-based Alienata is a self-described sound obsessive whose sets span obscure electro, ACID, dub, IDM, dark disco, jackbeat, cosmic jazz, industrial atmospheres, break beats and crazy sounds in general.
A former philosophy student with a particular interest in mysticism, Alienata began DJing in 2000. In conjunction with Valencia's Overflow Collective, she not only served as a resident DJ but also participated in theatre and music technology workshops and oversaw its label operations.
Her earliest contact with Germany's music scene came through Leipzig's Homoelektrik collective, and upon moving to Berlin in 2011, she quickly found an adoptive family in the Killekill label and associated Krake Festival.
Alienata has also released a few records with her project Kat Channel with Snuffo of Snuff Crew and in 2017 launched her Discos Atónicos label to materialise varied influences “to listen to or play today or in ten years‘ time”, from esoteric psychedelia to industrial electro.
CONTROL is honoured to host the Sydney leg of her first AUS tour.

TOLOUSE LOW TRAX (Themes For Great Cities, Germany)
Detlef Weinrich aka Tolouse Low Trax! Member of both Kreidler & Toresch, Weinrich’s Tolouse Low Trax project is known for its atmospheric new-wave-sharpness and a cushioned beat rate between 107 and 116 bpm.
As a resident DJ and co-owner of the Dusseldof-based club & bar Salon Des Amateurs (home to DJs like Lena Wilikens, Jan Schulte & more), his recorded tracks breathe the hypnotic power of his DJ sets, where he arranges diverse rhythms between krautrock, cosmic, electronic and acid. They also remind of analogue-electronical pioneers such as Cluster or
Peter Baumann. Also 1980s avant-gardists Cabaret Voltaire or Zazou Bikaye have left their mark, without Toulouse Low Trax explicitely referring to them.
With his raw, groove-based neo-industrial loops, Weinrich has demonstrated that an MPC and a small synth-ensemble are enough to bring alive futuristic dance music in the here and now.
