祝前日となるこの夜のContactは、ココロとカラダを刺激する対照的なDJをふたつのフロアにフィーチャー！Studio Xに登場するのは、無骨ながらもディープな4つ打ちグルーヴで孤高のスタイルを打ち立てたデトロイトの英雄Delano Smith。地元デトロイトの伝統に沿った率直で明解なサウンドを武器に、"Sushitech"、"Still Music"、"Third Ear"といったレーベルと関係を築きながら独自のキャリアを歩んできた名手だ。世界を相手に活動し、15年以上にわたってリリースを重ねてきた職人の技が、この日もDJブースをつうじて披露されるに違いない。
一方のContactフロアには、90年代からイスタンブールの音楽シーンで活動してきたZozoが登場する。オリエンタル・クライムミュージックと称する気鋭のサウンドを探究する彼女は、近年、DJとして頭角を現している注目株だ。クラブDJとしてキャリアをスタートした自身の感性に基づくスタイルは、神秘的な異世界感の漂うサウンドを自在に操りながら、フロアで機能する妖しくも魅惑の空間を演出する。謎と驚きにあふれる変化に富んだセット構成に期待大だ。

Ahead of the public holiday in Japan, Contact presents a two-tiered night of contrasting vibes to stimulate the mind and move the feet. Detroit hero Delano Smith will be commandeering the Studio X Floor on the night, undoubtedly bringing his inimitable brand of rugged yet deep four-to-the-floor grooves. While his raw, upfront sound sits comfortably in the storied legacy of his hometown, Smith’s own career path has been singular, forging connections with labels like Sushitech, Still Music, Third Ear and more. With an international outlook and more than 15 years worth of releases behind him, Delano Smith has his own story to tell, which he no doubt will do when he takes to the decks on the night.

Zozo has been immersed in the music scene of Istanbul since the 90s, but her reputation as a DJ has been formed more recently through her exploration of a genre she defines as ‘oriental crime music.’ This unique definition allows for all kinds of exotic, esoteric and otherworldly sounds to fall under her spell, while all built on the foundations of the club DJ ethic she first began her career with. You can expect a twisting narrative and plenty of obscure surprises when she plays on the Contact Floor for her first gig in Japan.
