Pender Street Steppers, Hashman Deejay, BTHC & DBS Deejays
We’ve been holding this close to our chests for some time, but now we present a special dance initiative between BTHC and DBS, and a handshake from our brothers from the Canadian Riviera. PENDER STREET STEPPERS & HASHMAN DEEJAY. Two of our favourites from 2017 back to throwdown in fresh surrounds.
A cornerstone piece in the vast and interconnected Mood Hut Records puzzle, PSS (Jack J & Liam Butler) have carved an inimitable sound. First gracing our ears through the sublime mixtape "Life in the Zone.” 90 minutes of pure Vancouver which set the blazed out trail of their future outputs and DJ sets. After joining us for a sold out show at the Bunker last year they’ve put out their most diverse and full 12” packages with their self titled EP on Mood Hut. Chocked full of dubbed out grooves, guitar licks and their trademark energetic smoothness. This energy is also seen in their impeccable DJ stylings, lending their midas touch to Norway's Trushmix and PLO Man’s show on Berlin Community Radio. Their presence has always kept ears happy on the dance floor too, ramping up their touring schedule with slots around America and the European summer. Appearing in their home town Vancouver’s Bass Coast Festival and London’s Corsica Studios with equal aplomb.
Hashman Deejay has been pushing the veil of electronic music with his signature brand of tough yet glistening house. His outputs via labels like Future Times and Mood Hut have opened our minds to forward-thinking yet undeniably fun sounds. His touch reigns true along side Neo Image and Bluntman Deejay as Aquarian Foundation and Kinetic Electronix, producing some of the most interesting records from the Vancouver family. Since gracing the Valley Drive-In last year, Hash introduced his Studio Mody alias and continued his GLOBEX moniker with PLO Man, further diving into the world of 90’s trance and ambience. With a helping hand to RAMZi on her latest Phobiza output shows his variation of style is at an all time high. His musical blending is hit with the same enthusiasm shown in his NTS, Boiler Room and Trushmix offerings giving a window into his fresh and exciting mind.
For this initiative we’re pleased to throwdown in the upstairs loft of the Jubilee, a new space we’ve never used before. With supports from the BTHC and DBS families and “those” visuals we’ve truly got you covered.
