Tommie Sunshine, Star Eyes, Word of Command, SPRKLBB
Time-travel back to the late 1990s, early 2000s L.E.S. and Williamsburg (which was still warehouses not condos)... When Electroclash, a wild fashionista inspired music and performance movement, was taking over the coolest little clubs. A modern mesh of electro, post punk and synth pop, Electroclash is a genre full of so many guilty-pleasure hit singles, it is hard not to love/forget so many of the catchy hits from the era: "Do I look like a Slut??", "Frank Sinatra", "Emerge." Many of us missed out on the original debauchery. Kids, are you ready for your nightlife history lesson?
Dutch producer and DJ I-F, with his 1997 track "Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass", is knowN to have originated the Electroclash sound, which was soon After adopted by countless other fantastic bands, namely... Miss Kittin & The Hacker, ADULT, Peaches, Chicks on Speed, Fischerspooner, and the list is endless.
The legendary Tommie Sunshine was one of the most popular DJs of the Electroclash era who remixed literally hundreds OF Electroclash songs. We have been scheming to do this party for a while now. Once a year, Tommie likes to take a break from his massive gigs to play for an intimate Kiss & Tell party crowd at Bossa.
Also along for our nightlife-time-travel-ride is Kiss & Tell favorite and radio superstar Vivian Host aka Star Eyes who was actually around for the original height of Electroclash wave. She has the music collection, the hair, and photos to prove it!
Heartthrob Daniel Leyva aka Word of Command of the infamous Fist queer parties, also has a deep collection of electro and is very excited to play Kiss & Tell and Bossa for the first time.
Topping off the night is my resident Andy Egelhoff aka SPRKLBB (pronounced Sparkle Baby) who just got home from his tour of South America!
Practically everyone is bringing the original records they got almost 2 decades ago, I am super honored to have these deep selectors play for me.
Party follows Kiss & Tell: Techno Speed Dating w/ Kfeelz 💘
